Did you know that most carpet has a free warranty?
In the old days carpet warranties were based on a loss of face weight. In other words, the carpet could be completely flattened and stained and never loose enough face weight to satisfy a warranty claim.
Nowadays, most carpet warranties are based on appearance. This means that if the carpet has permanent stains or has too much matting/crushing it may be eligible for warranty replacement.
While today’s warranties are much better, the homeowner does have certain responsibilities. These include having the carpet cleaned on a prescribed interval (usually 1-1.5 years) and having it cleaned professionally (most require cleaning by an IICRC certified firm). In addition, the claimant must have records of these cleanings.
We have been IICRC certified for nearly 25 years and keep cleaning records for our clients.
In closing, we suggest that you keep your warranty information, have you carpet cleaned at regular intervals (by an IICRC certified firm and keep your records.
